Jana Kramer Defends Adam Sandler Officiating Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Wedding
Actress Jana Kramer has publicly defended the decision of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce to have Adam Sandler officiate their wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Kramer, who previously worked with Sandler on the 2006 film "Click," shared her insights on her "Whine Down" podcast, addressing what she noted was an "interesting choice" for an officiant.
Kramer described Sandler as a "sweet man" and a "good man," highlighting his sentimental and grounded nature.
She recalled her experience on the set of "Click," noting that while Sandler might appear to have a huge personality on-screen, he is "soft spoken" and "very intentional when he speaks" behind the scenes.
This perspective, she suggested, makes him a fitting choice for such a role, combining humor with a thoughtful demeanor.
Swift's longtime publicist, Tree Paine, confirmed to Page Six that the "Grown Ups" star officiated the ceremony, which took place on July 3 at the iconic New York City venue.
The decision to have Adam Sandler officiate reportedly came after he and Travis Kelce shared the screen in the upcoming 2025 film "Happy Gilmore 2." Kelce made a cameo in the comedy, appearing in a scene with Bad Bunny.
The wedding itself was a star-studded affair, with Swift and Kelce, both 36, exchanging vows in front of approximately 1,000 guests, including celebrities like Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid.
Breaking from tradition, the couple chose Swift’s brother, Austin Swift, as her “Man of Honor,” and Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce, as the “Best Man.” The newlyweds have since made their first public appearance as a married couple at Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster’s wedding.
