Kristin Cavallari Discusses Parenting Approach, Including Kids Flying Coach
Kristin Cavallari recently shared insights into her parenting philosophy during an appearance on the *Aspire With Emma Grede* podcast.
The former *Hills* star revealed that she often has her three children—13-year-old Camden, 12-year-old Jaxon, and 10-year-old Saylor—travel in coach, even when she is seated in first class.
This approach offers a glimpse into how she aims to instill a sense of reality and work ethic in her children, despite their privileged upbringing.
Cavallari, 39, explained that she doesn't find it difficult to be separated from her children during flights.
She noted that her kids are no longer toddlers and have largely stopped fighting, making the arrangement more manageable.
More importantly, she views this practice as a way to help them recognize their "very fortunate situation." This candid admission provides a window into the personal choices of a public figure regarding family values.
“I’m like, ‘Bye, guys, have fun back there,’” Cavallari recounted, emphasizing her belief that this experience is beneficial for them.
She further elaborated on her desire for her children to understand that they need to work for what they want, stating, “If they want something, they have to work for it.
I want them to know, ‘This is not your money.
This is my money.’”
To encourage this work ethic, Cavallari mentioned that her children, whom she co-parents with ex-husband Jay Cutler, have even started "their own little businesses." These ventures have included tasks such as "washing people’s windows" and "washing people’s garbage cans," demonstrating a hands-on approach to earning money and understanding its value.
