Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, accompanied by their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, may be staying at Althorp House, the former home of Princess Diana, during their upcoming visit to the United Kingdom next month.

This potential stay at a location deeply connected to Prince Harry's mother adds a significant personal dimension to their trip.

Althorp House, located in West Northamptonshire, holds considerable historical significance for the royal family.

Princess Diana spent her teenage years there after her father, John Spencer, inherited the title of earl and the estate in 1975.

She moved to Althorp at age 14, a transition that, according to Sarah Bradford's 2006 biography, Diana found challenging, as she was leaving her childhood home in Norfolk.

The estate, which has been owned by Diana's family for over 500 years, is also her final resting place.

She was buried on an island within the grounds, known as The Oval Lake Grave, following her death in 1997.

Her brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, stated that this location was chosen to ensure her grave could be privately cared for and visited by her sons.

Speculation about the family's accommodation arises from the Althorp House website, which indicates the estate will be closed to the public on July 10 and 11.

This closure suggests a private event or visit, potentially coinciding with the Sussex family's arrival.

Prince Harry's visit is also expected to include promotional activities for the 2027 Invictus Games in England, ahead of next year's event in Birmingham.

Althorp House is a vast 14,000-acre estate featuring a lake, stables, an 18th-century guesthouse, and a memorial temple dedicated to Princess Diana.

While the estate is open to the public for only two months each year, visitors are not permitted to access the island where Diana is buried, though they can visit the Doric-style temple memorial built in July 1998.

A path lined with 36 oak trees, one for each year of Diana's life, leads from Althorp House to the lake.
