Megyn Kelly has voiced her strong disapproval of Larry David's recent comments concerning a White House UFC match, suggesting that the comedian's critique was elitist.

Kelly, 55, shared her perspective on a recent episode of *The Megyn Kelly Show*, stating that while she enjoys David's work on *Curb Your Enthusiasm*, she wishes he would refrain from what she termed "political over-the-top stuff."

Kelly's comments followed footage of David, 78, speaking to Variety at the premiere of his new HBO sketch show, *Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America*.

In the interview, David described the White House UFC match as a "travesty," adding, "It was embarrassing.

I was embarrassed to be an American."

This development is significant as it highlights a clash of perspectives between prominent media figures on a politically charged event.

Larry David, known for his critical stance on Donald Trump and his supporters, has previously condemned the former president.

However, Kelly took particular offense to his latest remarks, proposing a theory that David's affluent lifestyle in areas like Beverly Hills or Bel Air influenced his viewpoint.

Kelly suggested that David, from his privileged position, looked down upon what she described as a "working-class American sport," leading him to turn up his nose at it and express embarrassment.

This critique comes despite Kelly herself having a reported $30 million payout from NBC News and having increasingly admonished Trump, even while maintaining her criticism of liberal media figures.

The UFC event in question, held on the White House lawn, marked the president's birthday and was framed around America's 250th anniversary.

The event drew controversy, particularly after heavyweight fighter Josh Hokit used a derogatory slur against former First Lady Michelle Obama during his victory speech.

Hokit later attempted to defend his comment, claiming he thought he was giving her a compliment.

Notably, David's new HBO sketch-comedy miniseries, which remixes American history with his signature humor, was produced by Barack and Michelle Obama.
