Princess Kate has successfully completed the demanding Three Peaks Challenge, an endeavor that saw her scale the three highest peaks in Great Britain within a 24-hour period.

The Princess of Wales, 44, announced her achievement in an Instagram post on Sunday, June 28, revealing her motivation was to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

This significant physical feat holds personal meaning for Kate, who underwent cancer treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital.

Her participation in the challenge underscores her commitment to giving back to the institution that supported her.

In her post, she described the challenge as "not simply as a physical endeavour but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back."

Kate, who confirmed her cancer is in remission in January 2025 after a 2024 diagnosis and preventative chemotherapy, emphasized the broader impact of cancer.

She noted that the disease affects more than just the body, presenting emotional and psychological challenges that require a holistic approach to care.

She completed the challenge to highlight the importance of "whole person" approaches in cancer treatment.

During her climb, Princess Kate maintained a casual appearance, sporting a black hooded windbreaker and a baseball cap, with her sapphire and diamond wedding and engagement ring, formerly belonging to Princess Diana, as her only visible adornment.

She was reportedly greeted by Prince William, their children, and her parents and brother, James Middleton, after completing the challenge.

Fellow hikers encountered the Princess during her ascent.

One individual, Jacky Leung, shared a video on Facebook of Kate climbing stone stairs, noting that his group did not initially recognize her.

Leung praised her "immense strength and spirit" in completing the rigorous challenge.

Another encounter involved Pete Haslam, who was undertaking the challenge with a group of 17 people to carry his paraplegic son, Ted, up the mountains to raise money for Molly Ollys, a children's charity.

Haslam recounted meeting Kate on Scotland's Ben Nevis and later on England's Scafell Pike mountain, where she stopped to chat with them.

He mentioned that Ted, an 11-year-old Aston Villa fan, had previously met Prince William, and Haslam asked Kate to relay their encounter to the future king.
