Human rights attorney Amal Clooney recently revealed that her life and career were "easier" to navigate before her high-profile marriage to actor George Clooney.

Speaking at a Cartier Dialogues event in Bangkok, Clooney explained that she previously had more control over her public exposure.

"It was easier when I could decide what kind of exposure I got," she stated, adding that her marriage introduced "something new to navigate." This shift in her public image is significant because it highlights the unique challenges faced by individuals who marry into celebrity, even when they have established careers of their own.

Clooney, a mother of two, reflected on how her personal and professional lives, once distinct, merged after her marriage.

"I used to have my work life and my personal life, and they could look quite different, and I was able to not have them mix… and then I got married and that changed quite a lot," she explained.

Initially, she admitted to being conscious of a "one-dimensional view," feeling restricted in her choices, such as her attire, due to her professional role.

However, she has since come to believe that "it just doesn’t matter as much as living your life." She emphasized that ultimately, being good at one's profession will "shine through or not."

Despite the changes, Amal Clooney affirmed that she would not allow public perception to deter her from actions important for her family or relationship.

She married George Clooney in a star-studded ceremony in Italy in 2014, and they are parents to twins Ella and Alexander, now nine years old.

George Clooney has often spoken highly of his wife, noting their lack of arguments over their 12 years of marriage.

He told the Los Angeles Times in January that he is "much more secure" and less inclined to win arguments now.

Amal Clooney has also praised her husband's support for her high-powered career, telling Glamour magazine last year, "I have a partner in life who is so supportive of what I do.

So I don’t feel like I have to apologize for it or rein it in."
