Ariana Grande Condemns White House for Using Her Song in ICE TikTok Post
Pop superstar Ariana Grande has voiced strong disapproval of the White House's use of her 2024 song “Bye” in a recent TikTok video.
The post, which depicted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arresting individuals, drew a sharp rebuke from Grande, highlighting the ongoing tension between artists and political entities over intellectual property and messaging.
Grande directly commented on the TikTok post, urging the administration to cease using her music.
According to Reuters, her comment read, “Please do not ever use my music in relation to this barbaric, inhumane, heinous nonsense.
Fck ice.” While a spokesperson for Grande confirmed the comment to Variety, it was reportedly not publicly visible on the post.
Her team also worked to have the audio removed, and the sound was subsequently stripped from the video.
In response to Grande's criticism, White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson issued a statement to Variety, saying, “We’ll say this one last time: what’s actually barbaric, inhumane, and heinous are the criminal illegal aliens who have injured and murdered innocent American citizens.”
This incident is not the first time Grande has publicly challenged the Trump administration.
In September 2025, she reshared an Instagram post that criticized the administration's ICE raids and what it described as transphobic rhetoric, among other concerns.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Kush Desai also responded to Grande directly, using puns based on her song titles.
He stated, “Save your tears, Ariana.
Because President Trump’s actions ended Joe Biden’s inflation crisis and are bringing in trillions in new investment.
He even signed an executive order just like magic that paved the way for the FTC to crack down on Ticketmaster for ripping off Ariana Grande’s concert-going fans.
Get well soon, Ariana!”
Grande has a history of political engagement, having supported Democratic nominee Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.
She also performed for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the 2014 “In Performance at the White House: Women of Soul” event.
Currently, Grande is on her “Eternal Sunshine” tour, with a scheduled performance at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena this Saturday.
