Actor David Harbour has opened up about a "false" media report concerning his *Stranger Things* co-star, Millie Bobby Brown, stating that the article partly triggered a mental health episode for him.

Harbour, 51, addressed a viral U.K.

Daily Mail story from last year that claimed Brown had filed "pages and pages" of bullying and harassment claims against him before the final season of the Netflix series began production.

He told Variety that the story was false and that its publication led to "a breakdown" for him.

The actor, who has been open about his bipolar disorder, found the timing of the story particularly unusual, as it emerged just a week after his ex, Lily Allen, released an album that was critical of him.

Harbour reflected on his decade-long professional relationship with Brown, where they portrayed a father-daughter dynamic.

He noted that disagreements are natural in any long-term relationship, whether familial or professional, but the high-stakes environment of a "billion-dollar show" can amplify such issues.

He also admitted to sometimes behaving in "embarrassing" ways on set, linking it to his mental health struggles.

"I do suffer from some confusing stuff — it’s confusing as hell," Harbour explained, suggesting that mental health challenges can lead to erratic behavior under extreme stress.

He expressed shame for these moments but emphasized that they are not chosen, and he wouldn't wish them on anyone.

Harbour also mused that for some, their "gifts are inextricably linked with their illnesses," allowing for both profound creative moments and difficult personal episodes.

Despite the past report, Harbour confirmed his strong bond with Brown, stating, "Millie and I are working on several [projects]… There is a special bond there.

I love her.

She loves me." Brown echoed this sentiment in her own statement, acknowledging that their relationship became more collaborative over time and that they could push each other emotionally in scenes.

She expressed gratitude for their shared experience on *Stranger Things*.
