Jesse Eisenberg, known for his role as Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network," has publicly stated his desire to distance himself from the Facebook founder.

Speaking at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF), Eisenberg expressed that he no longer wants to be associated with Zuckerberg, citing a dislike for the comparison.

During a KVIFF Talk, Eisenberg reflected on his portrayal of Zuckerberg, noting that at the time of the film's production, Zuckerberg was not widely known.

He viewed the role as an opportunity to play an "interesting character." However, as Zuckerberg's public profile grew, Eisenberg's perspective shifted.

He remarked, "I don't want to be associated with him anymore, because I don't really like the comparison."

Eisenberg further elaborated on his feelings, stating, "I see that the person who created this website is not a person who cares about people.

If this guy is the creator of this world, I don't want to live in that world." This sentiment provides insight into why the actor, writer, and director is keen to separate his public image from that of the tech mogul.

This development is significant as Eisenberg's portrayal of Zuckerberg remains one of his most recognizable roles, and his current stance offers a clear personal distinction from the figure he once depicted.

Eisenberg also revealed his personal aversion to social media, explaining that he is not a user of platforms like Facebook or Twitter.

He described feeling "humiliated to be in public talking about myself" and found the idea of sharing mundane personal details on social media terrifying.

Earlier in the day at KVIFF, Eisenberg received the festival's President's Award before a screening of "The Double." He is among several notable figures attending the 60th edition of the Czech festival, which runs from July 3-11.

Other honorees at the festival include Dustin Hoffman, who received the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contributions to World Cinema, and Maggie Gyllenhaal, who also received a President's Award.
