TMZ reported that the autopsy further indicated the presence of methamphetamines in Brown's system at the time of his death.
Additionally, "subsequent immersion in water (river)" was noted as a contributing factor to his passing.

His brother, Bear Brown, initially shared the news of Matt's death in an Instagram video, stating that a body found in the river was positively identified as Matt.
Bear also mentioned that their youngest brother, Noah, assisted authorities in recovering and identifying Matt's body.
Bear expressed his surprise regarding the manner of death, saying, "I would have never suspected he would have hurt himself, honestly." He acknowledged Matt's long-standing struggles, noting, "He struggled for a long time, as I've mentioned.
And I worried he was going to end up, like, OD'd or something like that.
I didn't think he would hurt himself."
A day later, Bear posted a more extensive tribute to Matt Brown on Instagram, highlighting his brother's multifaceted personality and talents.
He described Matt as "intelligent, curious, creative, and endlessly fascinated by the world around him," and a "gifted outdoorsman, fisherman, boatman, artist, and lifelong learner." Bear also noted Matt's ability to teach himself various skills, from sign language to ancient languages.
The post also touched upon Matt's personal struggles and his efforts to help others.
"During periods of sobriety and recovery, he openly shared his struggles with addiction and mental health through his videos and personal outreach," Bear wrote, adding that Matt "encouraged others to seek help, offered hope to people fighting similar battles, and reminded them they were not alone." Bear concluded by acknowledging Matt's imperfections but emphasized that his life should not be defined solely by his lowest moments, stating, "He was imperfect.
He was human.
He was deeply loved.
And he will be missed beyond words."
