Rosie O'Donnell Predicts Trump Will Not Finish Term, Cites 'Dementia'
Actress and comedian Rosie O’Donnell has publicly stated her belief that President Trump will not serve out the remainder of his term.
Appearing on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” O’Donnell attributed her prediction to what she described as the president’s visible cognitive decline and “dementia.” This development is significant as it continues a long-standing public feud between O'Donnell and Trump.
The comments came during a discussion where Jake Tapper asked O’Donnell about her potential return to the U.S.
from Ireland, where she moved after Trump’s reelection in January 2025.
O’Donnell expressed doubt that Trump would remain in office until 2029.
To support her claims, O’Donnell pointed to recent instances of what she characterized as gaffes by the President.
She specifically mentioned an incident at this week’s NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, where Trump reportedly referred to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as “Putin.” O’Donnell likened such mistakes to those one might forgive at a family dinner but would consider dangerous in a more critical context.
Jake Tapper also brought up another reported instance where Trump appeared to refer to Iran as the “Islamic Republic of Japan.” O’Donnell cited this as further evidence of what she termed his “dementia.”
Beyond her predictions about Trump's term, O’Donnell also used her CNN appearance to declare that “fascism has already arrived” under the Trump administration.
She criticized the left-wing Democratic Party for what she perceives as a failure to treat the current political moment with the necessary urgency.
This public commentary is the latest chapter in a prolonged and often contentious relationship between O’Donnell and Trump.
O’Donnell’s move to Ireland with her teenage child in early 2025 was reportedly motivated by concerns over the political climate following Trump’s reelection.
In response, Trump has reportedly attacked O’Donnell in multiple Truth Social posts, even threatening to revoke her citizenship and labeling her a “Threat to Humanity.”
O’Donnell’s remarks align with similar claims made by other prominent Democratic figures.
Illinois Gov.
J.B.
Pritzker, for example, also attributed Trump’s rhetoric to “dementia” in recent comments to CNN.
The White House has dismissed such claims, calling them a “desperate” attempt for relevance and asserting that the president’s health is “exceptional.”
