Fox News host Sean Hannity has publicly addressed the recent speculation surrounding his health, clarifying the reasons behind his raspy voice and facial puffiness that garnered significant attention on social media.

The conservative commentator explained that his altered appearance and voice were due to a combination of a training injury and medication.

Hannity revealed on X that he developed a painful pinched nerve in his neck.

To manage the inflammation, his doctor prescribed prednisone, a synthetic corticosteroid.

He noted that while the medication is helping with the nerve issue, it has resulted in laryngitis and some facial puffiness, which he described as a normal side effect for individuals taking prednisone.

Prednisone is commonly used to reduce inflammation and can cause side effects such as swelling, a rounded face often referred to as “moon face,” and water retention in the upper body and limbs, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

This explanation comes after his appearance on air prompted both concern and mockery, with clips of him going viral and even being discussed on shows like “The Daily Show.”

Hannity acknowledged the extensive social media commentary, stating, “I appreciate all the concern and well-wishes—including from members of the left-wing media.” He also light-heartedly dismissed suggestions of serious health issues, adding, “Sorry to disappoint them, but a pinched nerve, a raspy voice, and a puffy face aren’t taking me out anytime soon.”

He had previously discussed these issues on his radio show, the “Sean Hannity Show,” where he mentioned a sinus infection that led to laryngitis before being prescribed prednisone.
