Actor Tom Holland, known for his role as Spider-Man, recently met his namesake, historian and author Tom Holland, for a special episode of the historian's podcast, "The Rest Is History." The highly anticipated meeting saw the actor offer an apology to the historian for the confusion and search engine difficulties caused by their shared name.

This interaction provides a lighthearted look at the challenges of having a famous name-twin in the digital age.

The podcast episode brought together the two prominent figures, who had previously almost crossed paths at the London premiere of Christopher Nolan's film, *The Odyssey*.

During their on-camera discussion, the actor acknowledged the impact of his fame on the historian's online presence.

"I’m sorry, Tom," the Marvel star stated, to which the historian humorously replied that he doesn't Google himself, so it was "absolutely fine."

Their meeting also included a playful recreation of the iconic Spider-Man pointing meme, highlighting the good-natured spirit of their encounter.

The historian introduced his guest as "the real Tom Holland," prompting the actor to correct him, saying, "Not the real Tom Holland.

The other Tom Holland."

Beyond the humorous exchange about their shared name, the two Hollands delved into a discussion about Christopher Nolan's film, *The Odyssey*.

The actor, who plays Telemachus, son of Odysseus (portrayed by Matt Damon), in the movie, shared his insights into the adaptation of Homer's epic.

He praised Nolan's ability to condense the vast story into a 130-page script while retaining its emotional core and relevance.

"For anyone that’s familiar with The Odyssey… turning it into a film feels like you’d have to make five films [because] it’s such a vast piece of work," the actor noted.

He further explained his view that Telemachus and Penelope represent the reality of the story, while Odysseus's journey embodies the myth, allowing Nolan to push the boundaries of historical accuracy to serve the narrative's mythical elements.

The film *The Odyssey* is scheduled for release on July 17.
