Daveigh Chase, the actress known for her roles in 2002's “The Ring” and as the voice of Lilo in Disney's “Lilo & Stitch,” reportedly left behind a substantial estate valued at $400,000 in personal property.

This revelation comes from court documents obtained by Page Six, filed by her mother, Cathy Chase, who is seeking to be appointed as the administrator of her daughter's estate.

Chase passed away last month at the age of 35.

Her mother's petition for estate administration notes that Daveigh's father, John Schwallier, is believed to reside in the Philippines with an unknown address, though he reportedly maintains properties in Las Vegas.

The existence of a significant estate adds a complex layer to the narrative surrounding the actress's final years, as she was reportedly living on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles at the time of her death.

## Health and Personal Challenges

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner report, also obtained by Page Six, listed Chase's primary cause of death as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and chronic polysubstance use.

Chronic polysubstance use refers to the use of more than one drug in a short period, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Despite her struggles, Chase had no children and was never married.

Her alleged boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist her in her final days, describing her as a “light” who faced significant hardship after a difficult childhood and family estrangement.

However, Chase's former manager, John Ryan, later advised against donating to the campaign, stating that Chase had a trust account set up at SAG to cover all costs.

Ryan, who managed Chase for over a decade, also claimed she had “millions” in unclaimed residual checks at the time of her passing.

## Efforts to Provide Support

Disturbing footage obtained by The Post last month reportedly showed Daveigh Chase in a frail state on Los Angeles' skid row.

Her former manager, John Ryan, and stepsister Gaia Brown had reportedly enlisted a private investigator in 2025 to locate her and offer assistance.

Ryan indicated that while he was able to speak with Chase by phone, she subsequently “disappeared” again.

He expressed profound sadness over her death, remembering her as “the sweetest and brightest light in Hollywood.”
