Daveigh Chase, the actress known for her roles as the voice of Lilo in Disney's *Lilo & Stitch* and Samara in *The Ring*, was reportedly missing for over a decade before her death earlier this month at age 35.

This revelation comes from her former manager and close friend, John Ryan Jr., who recently shared new details about the years leading up to her passing.

This information sheds light on the circumstances surrounding the former child star's life away from the public eye.

According to Ryan, the first significant sign of Chase's disappearance occurred in 2015 when she failed to attend an important meeting with filmmaker Rob Reiner for a potential role.

Ryan recounted, "Rob Reiner had called us and had a role for her, and she never showed up." He explained that Chase had a history of withdrawing for periods, often seeking solitude away from Hollywood, which initially led friends to believe she would eventually return.

Ryan noted that Chase was a very private individual, often preferring to stay home or travel to secluded places.

"Because she was such an introvert, it wouldn’t be surprising if she didn’t leave her house for five months, and she just watched movies with her cats," he stated.

This pattern contributed to why she wasn't immediately reported missing, as those close to her initially assumed she was simply taking one of her customary breaks.

Despite her private nature, Ryan and Chase's friends remained in contact, checking in on her well-being over the years.

Ryan also mentioned that Chase had struggled with alcohol in the past, and he had previously helped her into rehab.

However, he insisted she was doing well and was sober before her disappearance.

Approximately six months ago, Ryan received a video that appeared to show Chase on Los Angeles' Skid Row.

He attempted to find her but was unsuccessful.

Ryan had been working on a documentary titled *Finding Lilo*, initially intended to help locate Chase and enlist public assistance.

He explained, "I didn’t want to protect the brand anymore.

I want to protect the girl." Following her death, the documentary will now be re-focused to celebrate Daveigh Chase's life and career.
