Collin Gosselin Challenges Kate Gosselin to Lie Detector Test Amid Abuse Allegations
Collin Gosselin, one of the children from the reality show *Jon & Kate Plus 8*, has publicly challenged his mother, Kate Gosselin, to take a lie detector test.
This challenge comes amidst Collin's ongoing allegations of childhood abuse and mistreatment, which he plans to detail in an upcoming memoir.
This development is significant as it escalates the public dispute between mother and son, bringing their long-standing family issues back into the spotlight.
Collin, who grew up under the scrutiny of reality television, has accused his mother of various forms of abuse, including being locked in zip-ties and unjustly sent to a psychiatric facility.
He reiterated these claims during an appearance on Strange McKnight’s YouTube channel, specifically inviting Kate to undergo a polygraph examination to address the zip-tie allegations.
He also expressed a desire to question her about financial matters, stating, "I want to ask about where all the money disappeared in the court documents that I’ve been reading."
Kate Gosselin has vehemently denied her son's accusations.
In response to comments on a recent social media post, she referred to Collin as "mentally ill" and described his claims as "malice." When asked if she would take a lie detector test, she simply replied, "Ha!" She also stated that as a public figure, the rules for defamation lawsuits are different, making it difficult for her to pursue legal action against her son.
## Collin's Memoir and Past Allegations
Collin's memoir, titled *In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood*, is scheduled for release on October 13, 2026.
The book's synopsis suggests it will reveal a "secret childhood" where he was allegedly locked in a basement cell and given a "cocktail of powerful antipsychotics."
This is not the first time Collin has made such claims.
In 2022, he told *Entertainment Tonight* that his mother sent him to the Fairmount Behavioral Health System, a psychiatric hospital, when he was 12 years old.
He spent two years there before moving to live with his father, Jon Gosselin, who was awarded full custody.
Collin has maintained that he was sent away to prevent him from revealing his mother's alleged ill-treatment.
Kate Gosselin has consistently defended her decisions regarding Collin, stating that he suffered from multiple mental health issues and that placing him in a psychiatric facility was for his and his siblings' well-being.
However, Jon Gosselin has previously stated that Collin had no known diagnosed medical condition other than common ADHD at the time and claimed to have spent a significant amount to get Collin out of treatment.
In 2024, Collin further detailed his allegations to The Sun, claiming that his mother would tie his limbs, bolt him in a room with cameras, and isolate him from his family.
Kate's attorney, Richard Puelo, stated at the time that Kate had no comment but did not believe she intentionally harmed any of her children.
