In early June, *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* experienced a substantial surge in its ratings, achieving its highest viewership figures since last fall.

This development is significant as it highlights the impact of major sporting events on late-night television viewership.

According to Nielsen Live+3 ratings data for the week of June 1, *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* averaged 2.89 million total viewers and 516,000 viewers in the crucial 18-49 demographic across its four original episodes and one rerun.

These numbers represent a 19 percent increase in total viewers and a notable 105 percent jump in the demographic compared to the preceding week.

The boost in *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* viewership was primarily driven by its NBA Finals lead-ins.

The broadcast following Game 1 on Wednesday, June 10, attracted 3.89 million total viewers and 751,000 demo viewers, marking the show's second-highest viewership of the season.

Similarly, the post-Game 2 episode on Friday, June 12, averaged 3.38 million total viewers and 846,000 in the key demographic.

### Other Late-Night Performances

While *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* saw gains, other late-night programs experienced varied results.

NBC's *The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon* averaged 1.37 million total viewers and 164,000 demo viewers, a decrease of 3 percent in total viewers and 39 percent in the demo from the previous week.

CBS's *Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen*, which replaced *The Late Show*, continued to see declines.

Its 11:35 pm half-hour averaged 786,000 total viewers (down 11 percent) and 80,000 demo viewers (down 15 percent).

The 12:05 am half-hour averaged 520,000 viewers (down 12 percent) and 57,000 demo viewers (down 8 percent).

The one-hour average for *Comics Unleashed* (653,000 total viewers and 69,000 demo viewers) is significantly lower than Stephen Colbert's final full quarter, which averaged 2.7 million total viewers and 233,000 demo viewers.

NBC's *Late Night with Seth Meyers* returned to its 12:37 am slot after a week of repeats, averaging 897,000 total viewers (up 17 percent) and 103,000 demo viewers (down 16 percent).

ABC's *Nightline*, also in the 12:37 am slot, averaged 1.17 million total viewers (up 24 percent) and 215,000 demo viewers (up 159 percent).

On cable, Fox News' *Gutfeld!* maintained its lead in the 10 pm slot, averaging 2.97 million total viewers (up 3 percent) and 213,000 demo viewers (up 36 percent).
