Justin Baldoni and his wife, Emily, have publicly addressed the legal dispute with Blake Lively, which stemmed from events surrounding the production of the 2024 drama film “It Ends with Us.” In a recent Instagram video, the couple broke a two-year silence on the matter, stating they felt it was finally the right time to speak out.

Baldoni, who served as both director and co-star alongside Lively in the film, acknowledged the difficulty in deciding when and how to discuss the ongoing situation.

Emily Baldoni added that there was "so much to say" regarding the dispute, which began in 2024.

The couple expressed immense gratitude for the support they have received, with Baldoni noting that "gratitude has saved us."

## Background of the Legal Dispute

The legal battle originated in December 2024 when Blake Lively alleged that Justin Baldoni sexually harassed her and attempted to orchestrate an online smear campaign during the filming of “It Ends with Us.” Following these allegations, Baldoni and his company, Wayfarer Studios, filed a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds.

This countersuit accused Lively of using false sexual assault allegations to gain control over the film.

However, a judge dismissed Baldoni's defamation suit, ruling that Lively’s accusations were protected by litigation privilege.

Just before the trial was scheduled to begin in May, Lively dropped her lawsuit and reached a settlement with Baldoni and Wayfarer.

While no money exchanged hands as part of this settlement, Lively is now seeking $7.5 million from Baldoni and Wayfarer to cover her lawyer fees.

Baldoni explained that their previous silence was a deliberate choice to "let the justice system run its course" and avoid "add[ing] to the noise." Emily Baldoni asserted that "the facts have spoken for themselves" throughout the years-long scandal.

Baldoni also extended his thanks to those who supported him, stating, "You have given your time to fight for us, and thank you does not feel like enough."
