Kate Gosselin Appears Unfazed by Son Collin's Upcoming Memoir, Focuses on Rescue Dog
Kate Gosselin recently shared a TikTok video focusing on her rescue dog, Koda, and her other dog, Meika, seemingly unaffected by the ongoing buzz surrounding her son Collin's forthcoming tell-all memoir.
The former "Jon & Kate Plus 8" star provided an update on Koda, who is currently undergoing training, and also commented on the weather.
This public appearance comes as Collin Gosselin continues to promote his memoir, "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood," which is scheduled for release on October 13.
The book's description indicates it will cover Collin's experiences, including claims of being institutionalized and forced medication as a child.
The memoir's impending release has brought renewed attention to the family's past, making Kate Gosselin's seemingly unbothered demeanor noteworthy.
Collin, 22, has been vocal on social media ahead of his book's debut.
On Sunday, he shared a throwback clip on Instagram Stories from an interview where he discussed his mother, adding a caption that read, "This was a year ago and I’ve been stood up by my mom … again." In the clip, Collin extends an invitation to his mother for a lie-detector test, stating his intention to detail his experiences in the memoir and challenge what he perceives as a "facade" presented by his mother to the media.
Reports from the Daily Mail suggest that Kate Gosselin has been "spiraling" in anticipation of the memoir's publication.
An insider reportedly told the outlet that Kate was unaware of the book's development and did not expect these details to emerge publicly.
The source also claimed that Kate has not communicated with Collin since his institutionalization.
Kate, 51, and her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, 49, are parents to eight children: sextuplets Aaden, Joel, Alexis, Hannah, and Leah, and twins Cara and Madelyn.
The family gained prominence through the TLC series "Jon & Kate Plus 8," which aired from 2007 to 2017.
Jon and Kate divorced in 2009, and Jon was granted sole custody of Collin in 2018.
Collin has previously accused his mother of "child abuse and child exploitation," allegations which Kate has denied.
Her lawyer stated in September 2024 that Kate acted to protect herself and her family from Collin's "troubled behavior."
