Kate Middleton made a significant appearance at Trooping the Colour on June 13, an annual event marking the monarch’s public birthday celebration.

The Princess of Wales chose a baby blue ensemble with white piping, designed by Catherine Walker, a designer also favored by Princess Diana.

This public outing follows her recent two-day visit to Reggio Emilia, Italy, in May.

Middleton's attire for the event was notably coordinated with her eldest son, Prince George, who complemented her look with a baby blue tie.

She completed her outfit with a matching baby blue hat by Philip Treacy.

Adding a subtle personal touch, Middleton also wore the same $10,210 pearl Cassandra Goad earrings that she previously wore to Prince Louis's christening in 2018.

The brand's website describes these earrings as designed to resemble a head of cauliflower, with each pearl featuring a small diamond surrounded by gold.

Royal biographer Russell Myers has highlighted Kate Middleton's growing influence within the monarchy, referring to her as "the real strategist" and someone focused on the future.

Myers also noted that Prince William "relies on her an awful lot." He further commented on her ability to represent the monarchy "so fantastically well" and her increasing involvement "on a greater scale."

Middleton's recent visit to Italy, her first international trip since her 2024 cancer diagnosis, was described by aides as "an important step in her journey" and left her "energized." A palace aide called it "a huge moment for the princess," especially as it was her first international visit post-recovery.

Despite undergoing cancer treatment in 2024, Middleton was determined not to miss Trooping the Colour.

She announced her remission in January 2025 and has since begun to resume a more consistent schedule of public royal duties.

Former press secretary to Queen Elizabeth, Ailsa Anderson, remarked that Middleton's return signals she is "back in business," acknowledging that "everyone concerned has been missing the princess’s star quality." Myers added that Kate Middleton is a "huge draw" and a "central force in the monarchy’s popularity and ability to achieve its goals and move forward." A family friend also described her as "an impeccable force for good, a fantastic standard-bearer—not just for the royal family, but for the country."
