Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood Debut "Ringing Hollow" from New Rolling Stones Album
Mick Jagger and Ronnie Wood of The Rolling Stones recently previewed a new track, "Ringing Hollow," from their upcoming album, "Foreign Tongues," at a special event in London.
The performance, which also featured keyboardist Matt Clifford, was shared by the band on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse of the acoustic rendition.
The intimate gathering saw Jagger and Wood perform the song ahead of the album's release this Friday.
While the exact location in London was not specified, the two were photographed at an album launch event at St.
Clement Hotel, suggesting it was the likely venue for the performance.
The absence of Keith Richards from this particular performance was noted.
"Ringing Hollow" is described as a "loping country rocker" that reportedly reflects Gram Parsons' influence on the band and serves as a "kiss-off letter to the U.S." from Jagger and Richards.
Lyrics cited from the song include, "Well, I was madly in love with you/Before we ever met,' Jagger sings.
'I saw all your movies/I smoked your cigarettes.' But now, Jagger sings, 'Lady Liberty is wearing a frown.'"
"Foreign Tongues" marks The Rolling Stones' 25th studio album.
Prior to its release, the band unveiled several other tracks, including "Jealous Lover" and "Divine Intervention," the latter of which features additional guitar work from Robert Smith of The Cure.
Earlier singles "In the Stars" and "Rough and Twisted" also preceded the album.
In conjunction with the album launch, The Rolling Stones have also introduced a podcast titled *Speaking in Tongues*, hosted by Norah Jones.
The podcast is planned for six episodes, with the second episode currently available.
Regarding future live performances, Keith Richards recently expressed uncertainty about extensive touring due to the demands of travel.
However, he suggested the possibility of the band undertaking a residency in a major city like London, New York, Paris, or Rome, indicating a potential shift in their live performance format.
