New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has seemingly confirmed the rumored wedding date for pop superstar Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce.

During a press conference on Monday, Mamdani was discussing the city's preparedness for several major events scheduled for the upcoming July 4th weekend when he included Swift's wedding in his remarks.

This development is significant as it comes from a public official, lending more weight to previously circulating rumors about the couple's nuptials.

Mamdani was addressing the July 5th World Cup match at MetLife Stadium, located near New York City, and assured the public of the NYPD's ability to provide a safe experience.

He then listed other significant events, stating, "We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding all happening at the same time." He delivered this statement with a smile, according to reports.

When pressed by a reporter about whether he had been invited to the wedding, Mamdani laughed and replied, "No and no." He added, "I wish them a lovely wedding.

I'll listen to 'Only the Young' at home on my own," referencing a song from Swift's catalog.

Reports indicate that the Grammy winner and Travis Kelce are expected to marry at Madison Square Garden over the Fourth of July weekend.

The couple reportedly paid $3 million to rent the 820,000-square-foot arena for three days.

Swift was reportedly seen at Madison Square Garden last week, attending Game 4 of the NBA Finals, accompanied by Este Haim and Alana Haim, who are rumored to be among the 1,000 expected wedding guests.

Kelce was not present at the game.

Madison Square Garden is noted for its ability to offer privacy, featuring underground parking and a windowless arena, making it a potentially paparazzi-proof venue for a high-profile event.

The venue is also conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan, close to other July 4th festivities, including the Macy's Fireworks Spectacular.
