Months before his tragic death, musician Oliver Tree, born Oliver Tree Nickell, revealed his plans for his inheritance, stating that his family would not receive any of his wealth.
This revelation offers a poignant insight into his personal philosophy regarding his earnings.
During an appearance on The Zach Sang Show's April 25 episode, Tree discussed his perspective on his career earnings.
He explained that he did not consider the wealth accumulated from his music career to be his own.
"So when I die — I’ve set it up — my will is set up that when I pass, my family, no one’s going to get a penny," he stated at the time.
Tree further elaborated on his intentions for any potential future family.
He indicated that even if he were to have a wife or children, they would not inherit his fortune.
"If I have a wife or kids or anything, [they’re] not getting a f–king penny," Oliver shared.
He clarified that while he would ensure his children's college education, they would not receive a "silver spoon." His ultimate plan was for all his money to be directed back to artists upon his passing.
Oliver Tree tragically died on June 14 at the age of 32.
He was one of six fatalities in a helicopter collision in Rio de Janeiro.
Argentinean YouTuber Gaspi, also known as Gaspar Prim, was among the other victims of the crash.
