Olivia Rodrigo Announces All-Women Daisy Chain Fields Festival in Irvine
Olivia Rodrigo has officially announced her new venture into the festival scene with Daisy Chain Fields, an all-women music festival scheduled for August 29 at Irvine’s Great Park.
The event marks Rodrigo's first foray into curating a music festival, a project she has reportedly envisioned for years.
The festival boasts a diverse lineup of artists, with Rodrigo herself set to perform.
Other confirmed acts include Chappell Roan, Doechii, Katseye, Mitski, The Breeders, Die Spitz, Bikini Kill, Eli, Garbage, Quiet Light, Rachel Chinouriri, Santigold, and Not for Radio.
Adding to the star power, special guest appearances are expected from Karen O, Stevie Nicks, and Sarah McLachlan, the founder of the iconic Lilith Fair.
Rodrigo shared her excitement on Instagram, stating, "I’ve truly never felt more excited to share a piece of news with you all.
i’ve had a dream of doing this festival for years and i am so ecstatic its finally coming true!!" She emphasized the festival's mission, confirming that all net proceeds will be donated to various charities focused on supporting women and girls.
This initiative highlights a commitment to using the platform for social good, aligning with the festival's all-women focus.
The Daisy Chain Fields festival is partnering with several organizations, including Baby2Baby, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, Center for Reproductive Rights, FreeFrom, Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, National Domestic Workers Alliance, National Institute for Reproductive Health, National Women’s Law Center, and Planned Parenthood.
This broad range of beneficiaries underscores the festival's dedication to addressing multiple facets of women's and girls' welfare.
This event is particularly notable as it is one of the most significant all-women music festivals since Lilith Fair, which, despite initial skepticism, became a highly successful touring festival in 1997.
Rodrigo's festival aims to follow in these footsteps, leveraging the power of music and community for meaningful change.
The announcement comes after the success of Rodrigo's most recent album, “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love,” which debuted at No.
1 on both the U.S.
Billboard 200 and UK Official Albums Chart.
