Prince Harry recently shared a video message for competitors at the opening ceremony of the 2026 Invictus Germany Sports Festival on Saturday, June 13.

This appearance occurred as other members of the royal family gathered in London for the annual Trooping the Colour parade.

The Duke of Sussex, 41, addressed attendees in Düsseldorf, Germany, for the event, which is an offshoot of the main Invictus Games.

In his message, Harry expressed his honor in sending the message and commended Germany for setting a powerful example in honoring service with dignity and commitment.

He also noted that the second Invictus Germany Sports Festival, welcoming 11 nations, is helping to shape the inaugural Invictus Australia Sports Festival later this year.

Harry, a former captain in the British Army, launched the original Invictus Games in 2014 to support service members and veterans.

He concluded his video by thanking the current and former military personnel for their service and example, encouraging them to lean on each other and celebrate their achievements.

Meanwhile, in London, King Charles' birthday parade, Trooping the Colour, saw the participation of King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

The event culminated in the traditional appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony, where other working members of the royal family were also present, including Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not been invited to Trooping the Colour in recent years since stepping back as working members of the royal family.

Buckingham Palace has restricted balcony appearances to working royals under King Charles' vision for a slimmer monarchy.

This development highlights the continued separate paths of Prince Harry and the working royal family.

Looking ahead, Prince Harry is expected to travel to Birmingham, England, in July for Invictus Games-related events ahead of the 2027 competition.

Sources indicate this will be a solo trip for Harry, without Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, due to security considerations.
