During a recent performance in West Valley City, Utah, legendary rock singer Rod Stewart required an oxygen tank onstage after experiencing a near-fainting spell.

The incident occurred at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, where fans observed the 81-year-old artist moving less than usual and leaning on stage props for support.

Attendants brought out an oxygen tank, which Stewart used for several deep breaths before addressing the audience.

"The show must go on," he reportedly stated.

"I nearly f—ing fainted there.

Would you mind if I sit down for this one?" He then completed the remainder of his set while seated.

West Valley City's elevation, approximately 4,300 feet above sea level, has been suggested as a potential factor contributing to the singer's discomfort.

This event follows a series of health-related challenges for Stewart, including the cancellation of a San Diego concert just an hour before showtime due to an acute upper respiratory infection and laryngitis.

He also canceled two Las Vegas shows in May, citing a sinus infection and vocal rest.

Despite these recent health setbacks, Stewart has consistently maintained that he has no intentions of retiring from live performances.

In 2024, he clarified that his "One Last Time" tour marked the end of large-scale world tours, not his career altogether.

At the time, he expressed his love for performing and his commitment to fitness, stating, "I’m fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79." He has often attributed his sustained ability to perform to his rigorous fitness routine, which includes a personal trainer and extensive home gym facilities.

Stewart is currently scheduled to continue his "One Last Time" tour across the United States through July and August, with the final date set for August 15 in St.

Louis.
