Veteran journalist Scott Pelley has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), marking his first significant career move since his departure from CBS News.

This development comes weeks after his exit from the network, where he had worked for 37 years, including a long tenure as a correspondent for "60 Minutes." His decision to join a powerhouse agency like CAA suggests Pelley is actively pursuing new opportunities in his career.

The signing places Pelley alongside his former "60 Minutes" colleague Lesley Stahl, who is also represented by CAA.

The move follows a turbulent period for Pelley, whose departure from CBS News was preceded by a public clash with the network's new leadership.

According to reports, Pelley was terminated shortly after confronting newly appointed "60 Minutes" executive producer Nick Bilton during a staff meeting.

During this meeting, Pelley reportedly questioned Bilton's qualifications and criticized the influence of CBS News editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, accusing her of dismantling the storied newsmagazine.

He was quoted as saying Weiss was "murdering 60 Minutes" and was brought in "to kill it."

Bilton later responded to Pelley's actions, stating that the veteran correspondent had "hijacked my first meeting with staff to disparage me, my qualifications and my intentions with remarkable incivility and contempt." Pelley's contract was subsequently terminated by CBS News.

Following his firing, Scott Pelley issued a public statement alleging editorial interference and political pressure within the network.

He claimed that management had instructed him to "inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story" and that he had refused to comply with these directions.
