Wilco and Billy Bragg recently performed their acclaimed collaborative project, 'Mermaid Avenue,' live for the first time at Wilco's Solid Sound festival.

This marks a significant moment for fans, as the full album had never been toured or performed in its entirety since its initial release.

The 'Mermaid Avenue' project, which began in 1998, features music composed by Wilco and Billy Bragg set to previously unreleased lyrics by folk icon Woody Guthrie.

Guthrie's daughter, Nora, organized the original effort.

The collaboration resulted in two volumes released in 1998 and 2000, respectively, with a third volume following in 2012 as part of 'The Complete Sessions' box set.

The live debut took place at the MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA.

The performance saw Wilco and Bragg playing songs from across all three volumes of the project, though not in chronological order.

Notably, Natalie Merchant, who contributed as an additional musician to the original recordings, also joined the stage for this historic event.

While Wilco and Bragg have performed individual songs from 'Mermaid Avenue' together in the past, this festival appearance represented the first time the entire scope of the project was presented live.
