Pop icon Madonna made a surprise appearance in Times Square for a free Pride Month performance, transforming the iconic New York City landmark into a dancefloor.

The event, held in partnership with the Grindr app, saw the star perform several tracks, including new material from her highly anticipated album, *Confessions II*.

Emerging in a hot pink ensemble, Madonna opened her set with "I Feel So Free" from *Confessions II*, instructing the gathered crowd to "come on, meet me on the dancefloor." She then debuted "Love Sensation," the eighth track from the upcoming album, which is a sequel to her 2005 LP *Confessions on a Dance Floor* and is slated for release on July 3.

Madonna, 67, also performed "Bring Your Love" and older hits like "Get Together" and "I Love New York." The performance concluded with "Hung Up," a popular dance track that samples ABBA's "Gimme!

Gimme!

Gimme!" Before exiting, she thanked New York City and wished everyone a Happy Pride.

This surprise concert comes as Madonna gears up for the release of *Confessions II*.

The artist previously stated that "people think that dance music is superficial, but they’ve got it all wrong," emphasizing that "the dance floor is not just a place, it’s a threshold: A ritualistic space where movement replaces language." This statement provides context for the themes explored in her new music.

In addition to the album release, Madonna is set to return to the Tribeca Festival with an on-screen project linked to *Confessions II*.

Described as a "cinematic experience" inspired by and built around the first six tracks of the album, including "I Feel So Free" and "Bring Your Love," the film is scheduled to premiere on Friday, June 5, at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
