The animated film "Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" is set to premiere globally on Paramount+ on July 25, a significant shift from its initial October release schedule.

This change comes after the entire film reportedly leaked online in April, prompting Paramount to accelerate its debut.

Originally slated for an October 9 theatrical release, the film was later moved to a direct-to-streaming release in December 2025 before its current July 2024 date.

The studio has also unveiled an initial trailer and first-look images for the highly anticipated movie.

"Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender" continues the narrative from the beloved animated series.

The official logline reveals that Avatar Aang, the last Airbender, discovers an ancient power that could save his culture from extinction.

He embarks on a global quest with his friends to secure this power before it falls into the wrong hands, threatening the peace they fought to achieve.

The trailer shows Aang expressing his sorrow over being the last airbender, despite his success as the Avatar.

He then encounters Tagah, an ancient airbender, whom Aang believes can help revive their culture.

Voice Cast and Production Details

The film features a notable voice cast, with Eric Nam portraying Aang, Dave Bautista as Tagah, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka, Steven Yeun as Zuko, and Dionne Quan as Toph.

The movie is based on the animated series created by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who also contributed to the film's story alongside Tim Hendrick and Kenneth Lin.

Hendrick and Christopher Yost penned the screenplay.

Lauren Montgomery directed the film, with Steve Ahn and William Mata serving as co-directors.

Latifa Ouaou and Maryann Garger produced, alongside Konietzko and DiMartino.

The project is a production of Avatar Studios, a division of Nickelodeon Animation Studio established in 2021.

This film marks the first project released by Avatar Studios, which is also developing the animated series "Avatar: Seven Havens," set to debut in 2027.
