Garth Brooks Announces 2026 'Blame It All On My Roots' Arena Tour
Country Music Hall of Famer Garth Brooks is set to return to the road in 2026 with his newly announced 'Blame It All On My Roots: The Arena Tour.' The tour is scheduled to kick off in August, marking a return to the arena format for the acclaimed artist.
This development is significant as it signals Brooks' intention to revisit the intimate, high-energy atmosphere of his earlier arena performances, a style that resonated deeply with fans during his iconic 1996-1998 World Tour.
The tour's inaugural stop will be a two-night engagement at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, on August 21-22.
Brooks himself indicated the significance of this choice, stating in an Instagram video, “Indianapolis is the perfect city to start the world tour.” As of now, no additional tour dates beyond Indianapolis have been revealed.
Fans eager to secure their spots for the opening shows can purchase tickets through Ticketmaster, with sales beginning on July 17 at 10 a.m.
ET.
Brooks teased the upcoming tour with an Instagram video featuring him approaching his signature drum pod, a staple of his past tours.
In the video, he muses, “How long has it been, old girl?
Thirty years?” The footage then transitions to clips of Brooks from his 1996-1998 The Garth Brooks World Tour, showing him interacting with the same drum pod.
He continues, “A little dusty.
You know what?
Maybe it’s time, maybe it’s time we put you back to work.” The video concludes with the text, “The arena tour is coming,” reinforcing his plans.
In a statement, Brooks elaborated on the concept behind the tour, describing it as “putting the stadium show in a box.” He added, “The excitement gets multiplied by the intimacy.
Every seat is a great seat.
This is personal.” This approach aims to recreate the intensity and connection of his stadium performances within the more confined setting of an arena.
A Look Back at Brooks' Touring History
This new 'retro arena era' tour is designed to evoke the spirit of The Garth Brooks World Tour, which ran from March 1996 to November 1998.
That tour was a monumental success, featuring over 300 shows across the United States, Canada, and Ireland, and becoming one of the highest-grossing concert tours of its decade.
It supported his albums *Fresh Horses* (1995) and *Sevens* (1997) and led to the release of his *Double Live* album in November 1998.
*Double Live*, which included recordings from the 1996-1998 tour, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and held that position for five weeks.
The 1996-1998 tour was Brooks' last before a temporary retirement in 2000.
He later returned for various engagements, including a series of shows at the Wynn Las Vegas starting in 2009, The Garth Brooks World Tour from 2014-2017, The Garth Brooks Stadium Tour from 2018-2022, and a residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from 2023-2025.
The upcoming 'Blame It All On My Roots' tour marks another chapter in his extensive touring career, bringing him back to the arena stage.
