Elon Musk recently used his platform on X to promote the controversial film "Citizen Vigilante," which stars Armie Hammer and is directed by Uwe Boll.

The film features Armie Hammer in his first acting role since 2022's *Death on the Nile*, following accusations of abusive behavior towards women in 2021.

In "Citizen Vigilante," Hammer portrays a man who embarks on a violent spree against migrants, a narrative that has been described as drawing from right-wing tabloid themes.

According to director Uwe Boll, the film received an "unrated" classification from Germany's self-regulating movie rating board, the FSK, making a theatrical release in German cinemas improbable.

In response to this, Boll posted the film on Twitter for a 48-hour period, initially targeting his 19,400 followers.

It was during this time that Elon Musk intervened, personally promoting the film.

While it is unclear how many people watched the film during its brief availability on X, the promotional post garnered 313,000 likes.

The film has also received over a thousand positive audience ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, many of which were posted recently, contrasting with four negative reviews from professional critics.

This development is significant as it highlights how a high-profile endorsement from a figure like Elon Musk can bypass traditional distribution channels and expose a film to a massive audience, regardless of its critical reception or initial rating challenges.
