Faith Ward, a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC) since season 3 of *America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders*, stands out on the field for a unique reason: she is the only team member allowed to wear her hair in a ponytail.

This departure from the traditional DCC hairstyle, which typically emphasizes voluminous, flowing locks, has drawn attention.

Kelli Finglass, the director of the DCC, is known for her meticulous attention to the cheerleaders' hair, especially given its role in their routines.

Ward shared with ABC Perth that Finglass herself proposed the ponytail idea after observing Ward with her hair tied up during fittings.

Ward explained that while rehearsing, with her hair down and sweating after a performance, Finglass suggested she try putting her hair up.

Ward noted that Finglass "really liked the way it danced," which was a welcome development for Ward, who preferred not to have sweaty hair in her face while performing.

Finglass corroborated this account in an interview with USA Today, acknowledging the discussion surrounding Ward's hairstyle.

She stated that Ward applied with a ponytail and looked "adorable." Finglass recalled telling Ward during a rehearsal, "Why don’t you wear a ponytail?

It would make you stand out.

It’s memorable." She also mentioned that iconic cheerleaders in the past have worn ponytails or pigtails.

Finglass believes Ward's high-fashion ponytail has its own personality and has become a recognizable feature, with young fans often identifying Ward by her ponytail.
