Actor Faizon Love, known for his roles in films like "Elf" and "Couples Retreat," made his initial court appearance in Hillsborough County, Florida, on Friday.

Love, 58, was brought into the courtroom in a wheelchair, wearing a red prison jumpsuit and shackles, following his arrest on an outstanding warrant.

The warrant stems from two contempt of court charges related to a child support case.

According to reports, Love's ex, Tiffany Lee, alleges he is $250,000 behind in payments.

Lee's lawyer stated that Love has ignored multiple court orders and has not made the mandated $2,500 per month child support payments for several years.

During the hearing, Love's legal team argued that the actor is experiencing significant financial hardship.

His lawyers claimed he has no permanent residence, drives an older model car, and depends on friends to help cover his expenses.

Love himself admitted he currently lacks the ability to pay the monthly child support amount.
