In his memoir, Perrulli recounts Nicole's optimism during their relationship, as she sought to reclaim her life.

However, he also notes her allusions to difficulties in the divorce proceedings and her tendency to keep many details private.

He recalls a poignant dinner conversation where Nicole revealed past abuse from O.J.

Simpson, describing a severe beating that caused her to black out.

She reportedly felt unable to discuss it further due to concerns about hurting her children.

Simpson's volatile temper eventually led Perrulli to end their relationship.

He sensed Simpson was "uncontrollable." Perrulli's memoir is based on mementos he kept for over three decades, including a photo album and letters from Nicole, which he stored in an old briefcase.

He began transcribing her notes and his journals in 2024, forming the basis of his book.

Perrulli now hopes to ensure these mementos, particularly the photo album, are returned to Nicole's family or her children.

He acknowledges that his story "may likely scratch at wounds that will never fully heal" for the Goldman and Brown families, and especially for Sydney and Justin.

Through his book, Perrulli aims to present a side of Nicole Brown Simpson that he believes the world never truly knew—a spiritual woman seeking peace, tranquility, and happiness, whose story was often overshadowed by the trial.
