Actor Faizon Love, known for his role in the film "Elf," was arrested on June 18, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, on charges stemming from an outstanding child support warrant.

Love is currently being held without bond at the Orient Road Jail.

This development is significant as it highlights ongoing legal challenges for the actor, who has been a recognizable face in entertainment for decades.

The arrest is connected to a paternity case where Love reportedly owes $250,000 in unpaid child support to Tiffany Lee.

In court documents, Love claimed financial hardship, stating he had earned only $13,000 over the past five years, with no earnings in the year prior to his arrest.

He failed to appear at a child support court hearing in April 2026, citing a medical emergency, and was subsequently ordered to surrender for a 90-day sentence.

Love's career spans over 90 acting credits since the 1990s, including his role as Big Worm in the 1995 film "Friday" and as the Gimbel store manager in the 2003 hit "Elf." He also appeared in the 2009 film "Couples Retreat" and various TV series such as "The Parent 'Hood," "That's So Raven," and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." His last known role was in the 2023 movie "The Last Stop in Yuma County."

This is not Love's first encounter with legal troubles.

In March 2017, he was arrested for assaulting an airport employee at John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

According to authorities, he argued with a valet employee over parking payment before physically assaulting him.

Love pleaded no contest, resulting in a $500 fine and a 180-day jail sentence.

More recently, in 2024, Love was accused of assaulting a San Diego Sheraton Hotel employee.

A lawsuit alleges that he became agitated when he learned there were no vacancies, reportedly ripping a credit card reader off the counter and throwing it at the female worker.

The employee claimed she sustained a concussion and other injuries, leading to the San Diego Police Department citing Love for battery.
