Actor Faizon Love, known for his role in "Elf," was arrested in Tampa, Florida, on Tuesday, facing two counts of contempt of court.

The arrest stems from an ongoing child support battle with Tiffany Lee, where Love reportedly claimed a surprisingly low income.

According to court documents, the 58-year-old actor stated he earned no money in 2025 and that his highest annual income over the past five years was $13,000.

These figures were presented as part of his argument that he cannot afford the $250,000 he allegedly owes in child support.

This development is significant as it highlights the financial struggles an actor, even one with recognizable roles, can face, impacting their legal obligations.

Love's legal troubles escalated when a judge held him in contempt of court in May, ordering him to serve 90 days in jail.

He reportedly attributed his absence from an April hearing to a medical emergency.

He is currently being held without bond at the Hillsborough County Jail.

Beyond the child support case, Faizon Love is also facing a pending felony assault charge in San Diego, California.

This charge relates to a 2024 incident where he allegedly hit a hotel clerk with a credit card machine.

Love has pleaded not guilty to this charge.

A preliminary hearing found sufficient evidence to proceed to trial.

This is not Love's first encounter with the law.

In 2017, he pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge after an incident at an Ohio airport where he was filmed attacking a valet.

He received a $500 fine and a 180-day suspended jail sentence for that offense.
