British television personality Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he is battling prostate cancer, a diagnosis he shared in the concluding episodes of the fifth season of his Prime Video documentary series, 'Clarkson’s Farm'.

The news was delivered to his farm manager, Kaleb Cooper, and land agent, Charlie Ireland, during the penultimate episode.

Clarkson, widely recognized for his work on the motoring series 'Top Gear' and his weekly column for The Times, disclosed that he underwent a biopsy after a medical procedure in May.

He informed his team that the cancer is aggressive, stating, “I disappeared the other week, and I had a biopsy, and it is cancer, and it’s aggressive.” Despite the gravity of the news, Clarkson assured his team that he would “be fine.”

The episodes, filmed last summer and released on Tuesday, show Clarkson advocating for early detection.

He emphasized the importance of screening, noting, “If I hadn’t got myself checked out and they hadn’t caught the problem early, this could well have been my last harvest.” He expressed hope that early detection would allow him to continue farming for many years.

Initially, Clarkson was hesitant to specify the type of cancer to his staff, telling Cooper, “Where it is, is of no concern to anybody.” However, he later clarified his condition, explaining, “The prostate, 10 percent of it’s dead.

The 10 percent where the cancer is.” The season concludes with Clarkson in a hospital bed, reflecting on his health journey.

“So we started season five in a hospital bed and here we are at the end of season five, I’m back in a hospital bed,” he said, adding, “Some of the treatment has gone awry, let’s say.

I’ll probably be here for a little while… What I wanted to say was, if this is all successful, I’ll see you for season six.

And if it isn’t, I won’t.

Take care, everyone.”

Clarkson has previously used his platform to encourage men to undergo routine prostate exams, highlighting that early detection is crucial.

This public disclosure of his health battle brings a significant personal dimension to 'Clarkson's Farm', a show typically known for its bucolic charm, and underscores the importance of health awareness.
