Comedian Jerry Seinfeld recently made headlines after telling an influencer that Palestine “doesn’t exist” in a live-streamed social media clip.

The interaction took place on Wednesday night, June 10, as Seinfeld was leaving Madison Square Garden after watching the New York Knicks' historic comeback victory against the San Antonio Spurs in game four of the NBA Finals.

This public statement by Jerry Seinfeld adds to his history of vocal commentary on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which has drawn significant attention.

As Seinfeld exited the arena, he was approached by Kick streamer FinesseFave, who asked him if “we can get a Free Palestine.” Seinfeld reportedly laughed at the initial request, and when asked a second time, he shrugged his shoulders and responded, “It doesn’t exist.”

This is not the first time Jerry Seinfeld has publicly addressed the topic.

He has been a long-time and vocal supporter of Israel.

Last year, during an unannounced appearance at Duke University, he compared the Free Palestine movement to the Ku Klux Klan.

Seinfeld stated, “Free Palestine is, to me, just — you’re free to say you don’t like Jews.

Just say you don’t like Jews.” He further elaborated, “By saying ‘Free Palestine’, you’re not admitting what you really think.

So it’s actually – compared to the Ku Klux Klan, I’m actually thinking the Klan is actually a little better here because they can come right out and say, ‘We don’t like Blacks, we don’t like Jews.’ Okay, that’s honest.”

On another occasion last year, Seinfeld reportedly told an influencer at the 50th-anniversary special of Saturday Night Live, “I don’t care about Palestine.” More recently, in 2024, he clashed with an audience member in Sydney who shouted messages in defense of Palestine.

As the heckler was being escorted out, Seinfeld remarked, “We have a genius, ladies and gentlemen.

He solved the Middle East!” He continued, “It’s the Jewish comedians, that’s who we have to get!

They’re the ones doing everything.” As the man continued to shout “Palestine will be free,” Seinfeld responded, “Go ahead, keep going!

They’re going to start punching you in about three seconds so I would try to get all of your genius out so we can all learn from you.” He concluded by adding, “It’s a comedy show, you moron!

Get out of here.”

The conflict between Israel and Palestine escalated significantly on October 7, 2023, following a terrorist attack initiated by Hamas at the Nova Music Festival in southern Israel, which resulted in over 400 deaths.

According to Gaza health authorities, the subsequent Israeli response has led to the deaths of more than 72,000 Palestinians in Gaza.
