Mike Myers has confirmed that a fourth installment of the popular spy comedy franchise, 'Austin Powers 4', is in the works.

The actor, known for his multiple roles in the series, gave a straightforward "yes" when asked by a fan about the sequel during Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party.

Myers did not offer further details regarding the project.

This confirmation follows years of speculation and Myers's own non-committal statements about continuing the franchise.

He has previously indicated a desire for a new film to heavily feature the villainous character Dr.

Evil, a role he also portrays.

The potential return of the franchise comes over two decades after the last film, 'Goldmember', which premiered in 2002.

The 'Austin Powers' movies have collectively grossed over half a billion dollars worldwide and are recognized as significant cultural touchstones, inspiring numerous imitations and parodies.

The enduring popularity of the characters was recently highlighted by a Verizon commercial featuring Myers alongside co-stars Seth Green, Mindy Sterling, and Rob Lowe.

Franchise director Jay Roach commented on the possibility of a fourth film in 2020, stating that while he wouldn't say "never," the project would depend on Myers finding inspiration for the story.

Roach expressed his willingness to participate, calling Myers a "genius" and acknowledging his role in his own career beginnings.
