Filmmaker Olivia Wilde recently opened up about the "traumatizing" experience of being served legal papers by her ex-fiancé, Jason Sudeikis, during her 2022 CinemaCon presentation.

This public incident has been a significant point of discussion, and Wilde's latest comments provide further insight into its impact on her.

Wilde, 42, was on stage presenting her film *Don't Worry Darling* when an envelope labeled "personal and confidential" was delivered to her.

She accepted the packet and continued her presentation, a moment she reflected on during a recent episode of the *Call Her Daddy* podcast.

"I will never forget one of the most f---ed up things I went through, among so many, was that I was served papers on stage," Wilde stated.

She described the experience as "incredibly traumatizing," noting that women are often taught to "muscle through the most insane experiences."

After completing her speech, Wilde recalled dissolving "into a puddle" backstage.

She initially believed the incident went unnoticed due to the no-phone policy at the event, only to discover it had quickly become public knowledge with headlines and videos circulating online.

Months later, Wilde learned just how widely the story had spread when she met Tom Cruise.

"Hi, I'm Tom.

F---ed up what happened to you in Vegas," Cruise reportedly told her, confirming the incident's reach.

Regarding the intent behind the public serving, Wilde stated that Jason Sudeikis has claimed he was unaware of the timing or location.

"I need to believe that to continue [our coparenting relationship]," she explained.

Wilde speculated that lawyers can be responsible for such actions, acknowledging that "people are never their best selves when they're engaging in that kind of process."

A source close to the situation at the time confirmed that the envelope contained papers "to establish jurisdiction relating to the children" from Sudeikis.

However, the source also maintained that the *Ted Lasso* creator had no prior knowledge of the delivery method and would not have condoned such an "inappropriate manner."

Wilde previously addressed the incident in a 2022 *Variety* interview, calling it a "really vicious" move that, in any other workplace, "would be seen as an attack." She expressed her frustration that the "nastiness distracted from the work of so many different people and the studio that I was up there representing."

Wilde and Sudeikis, who announced their separation in 2020, share a son, Otis, and a daughter, Daisy.

Wilde admitted that the CinemaCon incident was "a moment that I ended up doing a lot of therapy about," and continues to impact her.
