Olivia Wilde recently opened up about the pivotal moment she realized her relationship with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis was over.

During an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast to promote her new film, “The Invite,” Wilde shared intimate details about a conversation that occurred prior to their split nearly six years ago.

Wilde recounted a difficult period in their relationship, stating, “Jason and I had been having a rough time for a while.” The turning point came after her birthday party when she asked Sudeikis about a present.

His response, “What would I get you, Olivia?

I don’t know you,” resonated deeply with Wilde.

She explained that this exchange highlighted how they had stopped engaging with and being curious about each other, leading to the realization that their relationship had run its course.

The former couple, who share two children, ended their engagement in 2020 after approximately nine years together.

This insight into their breakup offers a more personal understanding of the dynamics that led to their separation.

During the interview, Wilde also touched upon the highly publicized CinemaCon incident, where she was served legal documents on stage.

She described the event as “incredibly traumatizing” and noted that Sudeikis has denied prior knowledge of the stunt.

However, Wilde believes Sudeikis was hurt to see her experience it, acknowledging that he “felt very bad that it happened to me.”

Beyond her past with Sudeikis, Olivia Wilde reflected fondly on her previous romance with Harry Styles.

Despite the public's strong reactions to their relationship, Wilde characterized it as “the loveliest relationship… so sweet and so beautiful.” She felt they existed in a “little bubble” that largely shielded them from external judgment, which she considered a testament to their connection.

Wilde's upcoming film, “The Invite,” is an English-language remake of the 2020 Spanish movie “The People Upstairs.” Directed by Wilde, the comedy stars Seth Rogen and Wilde as a San Francisco couple whose marriage faces challenges during a dinner party with their enigmatic neighbors, played by Penélope Cruz and Edward Norton.

The film is set to be released on June 26.
