Collin Gosselin has made new allegations of physical abuse against his mother, Kate Gosselin, claiming she would "pray to God to stop hitting me" when he was two years old.

These claims were shared on his Instagram Stories and intensify the ongoing public dispute between the mother and son.

The allegations come as Collin, 22, prepares to release his memoir, "In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood," in October.

The book promises to reveal previously untold aspects of his life growing up on the reality television show *Jon & Kate Plus 8*.

Kate Gosselin recently addressed the upcoming memoir on TikTok, responding to a fan's suggestion that she sue Collin for defamation.

She stated that as a public figure, the rules for defamation lawsuits are different, and she was advised by an attorney that such cases are not honored by the courts for individuals in the public eye.

Collin's recent Instagram post directly referenced his mother's comments, emphasizing the importance of using his voice to shed light on his experiences.

## Past Allegations and Memoir Details

This is not the first time Collin Gosselin has spoken out about his childhood.

In 2024, he told The Sun that he was confined and isolated from his siblings by Kate, describing himself as a "scapegoat" for his mother's problems.

He alleged that Kate had a "containment room" built in their basement with cameras, a bolt-locked door, and a mattress, where he was made to live.

He further claimed that his hands and feet were zip-tied, and the door was locked from the outside while cameras monitored him.

Collin also previously stated that Kate was "physically aggressive" and "verbally, very abusive" towards him.

Medical reports obtained by The Sun reportedly indicated that Collin had reported the alleged abuse to his counselor.

His father, Jon Gosselin, stated he was unaware of Collin's alleged treatment until he gained custody of his daughter, Hannah.

The publisher's description for "In the Shadow of Eight" highlights that the memoir will cover Collin's experiences of being "held down," the "basement cell where he was hidden for years," and the "cocktail of powerful antipsychotics forced on an 11-year-old boy." The book aims to be a "reckoning with the dark side of fame" and Collin's journey to escape and recover.

Collin has also publicly expressed gratitude for his father, Jon, and referred to Jon's ex-girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, as "my real mom" in social media posts.

These public statements and the upcoming memoir underscore the deep-seated family tensions that have long been a subject of public interest.
